On Track for PCI

Well, things are going along well. Most stuff is in now just the front render to be finished and then a few fix ups around the place! PCI was going to be next week but Hubby will be away for work so PCI will be in 2 weeks and then handover a week or two later so it looks as though we will be moving at the beginning of December! Exciting times. Will add some photos, some are through the window so not that great! - Just tried to add photos cant do it so will try again soon!

Things are moving along!

Well it has been a while since the last post. We have reached lock up and fix now and we are on the home run. I (Lauren) have started training for a new part time job so things have been rather hectic in the Brodie house! But the house is coming along. Facade has been rendered ready for painting, bricks cleaned, kitchen in, tiling done. There are quite a few things we are not that happy with though so there may be a few heated discussions with our SS on the cards! Anyway here are some updated pics!

Facade Fiasco and Bench tops on!

Well the last week has been a little stressful - there was a big stuff up with our facade. But it has now been fixed, bricks knocked down and back on track - and we are happy with how it looks so that is great!

The bench tops have gone on and we love it - so happy as we had to change from our original selection which is no longer in production and we were not 100% sure we had made the right choice but seems we have!

Bricking is nearly done and paining should be beginning any day!

Bricks continue, cabinets in!

Well it has been a little while since I updated on here - but things are progressing! Brickie is slowly working away on the bricks but he is doing a great job so we are happy with that. The cabinets are in the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry. All doors are in - looks great very happy with colour choices so far!

Bricking Begins

The bricking began yesterday and I forgot to take my camera, I stopped by this afternoon to take a few and my battery went dead - oh dear! But never fear (as I am sure you all are - ha ha) I managed to take a few snaps before it died. We are really looking forward to seeing the bricking progress!

We have plaster!

The plaster has been completed Friday/Saturday - it is amazing how it now really feels like a 'real house'. We are pretty sure the bricking will begin today so stay tuned for an update on that!

House is Wrapped

Went past the block today and Millie called out "Look at our green house" from the back seat - we have been wrapped! (I think that is what it is called??) Lots had happened today - front door on - and I love it looks great. Bath frame is in - door frames for sliding doors are in - it is really coming together now!

Roof Tiles On

Dave went for an inspection yesterday with our new SS. He seemed to be very friendly and helpful so that was good. There was a big team to do the roof tiles and we were told it would be almost finished in one day! When I went to have a look later in the day I was very excited to see that the roof tiles were nearly completed! Our SS thinks we will be at lock up in two weeks - very exciting that it is all happening so quick!

Frame/Roof Trusses Finished

Well we had a call from Carlisle today and we have a NEW site supervisor - third one! Lets hope this one remains until the end. He said the frame is finished (and we got ANOTHER invoice in the mail today), Fascia has been delivered and will go on tomorrow and next week the roof tiles will go on. All the windows are in now, including the double stacker sliding door - looks great!

Frame almost finished - Roof delivered ready to put on!

We are amazed at how much work is being done in this shocking weather. Feel sorry for the tradies working in the rain - but this week we have seen the frame go up, windows starting to go in - and roof truss' delivered ready to go on - maybe they will start the roof tomorrow! Exciting times!

Frame has started!

We were surprised to see that the frame has started and they are doing it from scratch - we assumed they would buy the pre-fab stuff - anyway it looks good so far! Hopefully it will be done by the end of the week! I only took a couple pics as they were still working away!

Slab Done

Well our Princess Millie got a fantastic birthday present today - we have a slab! Very exciting! :)

Pipes are in!

We are excited to see that every day something new has appeared or happened. Cant wait for the slab and frame but so far we have pipes!

The Beginning of the Build

We were very happy to drive past our block today and see that the building has begun as scheduled! The site cut has started - there are retaining walls and so on still to be done. But we think it looks great and now we can see the outline of our house!

We also have been in contact with Carlisle a fair bit over the last few days and found out yesterday that our Ceasarstone bench top is no longer in production. Luckily Dave had the day off today to get our car serviced, so we went and had another look - don't like any as much as what we picked but have narrowed it down to two - decisions decisions!!!!!!!!!!

Site Start!

Well our building permit came through last week and now we have an approximate site start of July 9th - cant wait so excited!! So far we are down for a site cut starting the 9th, followed by drains on the 19th and slab pour on the 26th - so hopefully we will have some photos to post REALLY SOON! Stay tuned!!!!

Final photos at the block before we start! Land has settled, just waiting for building permits - hopefully they will come through this week!!! Yay!!!
